The Residential Construction Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS) provides an outline of the main hazards and risks associated with the construction of residential housing such as single or attached dwellings including use of mobile plant, tools and equipment, risks of falls, electrical hazards, exposure to hazardous chemicals, excavation work, hazardous manual tasks, noise, working in outdoor conditions, and environmental hazards.

The SWMS provides details of the health and safety precautions (including personal protection) required for residential construction work.
